Admitting to falling into the trap of prioritizing activity-making over lesson development is the first step towards improvement. Coming from a recreation background where tangible products are often the focus, transitioning to a more focused approach on learning in visual arts education is essential. The course Teaching Visual Arts in the Intermediate-Senior Division has provided valuable insights into designing lessons that prioritize learning outcomes rather than just completing tasks. One effective strategy is breaking down the creative process into smaller fragments, allowing students to fully engage and learn from each component taught.
